Archiving Policy

The Journal of Advanced Business and Finance Studies (JABFS) is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and security of its published scholarly content. Recognizing the importance of safeguarding academic research for future generations, JABFS employs multiple strategies to ensure that all articles remain permanently available in their original form.

1. Digital Preservation and Backups

  • All published articles are stored in the journal’s secure online publishing platform, with regular automated and manual backups.

  • Multiple copies are maintained on separate servers and storage systems to minimize the risk of data loss due to technical failure or cyber threats.

  • The journal uses secure hosting environments with up-to-date encryption and access control measures.

2. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Participation

  • JABFS participates in the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) and Controlled LOCKSS (CLOCKSS) systems to ensure distributed and redundant preservation.

  • These systems allow libraries and partner institutions worldwide to collect, store, and serve permanent copies of the journal’s content, ensuring availability even if the journal is no longer published.

3. Institutional and Subject Repositories

  • Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version (Version of Record) of their articles in their institutional or subject-based repositories, such as SSRN, RePEc, or other recognized academic archives.

  • Repository deposits must include proper citation details and a direct link to the official version hosted on the JABFS website to maintain authenticity.

4. Indexing Services and Third-Party Archiving

  • JABFS collaborates with reputable indexing and abstracting databases, many of which maintain independent archival copies of published works.

  • Inclusion in these databases enhances discoverability and ensures additional preservation through third-party storage.

5. Self-Archiving Rights

  • In line with the journal’s open-access policy, authors retain the right to self-archive their work.

  • Authors may store pre-print, post-print, and final published PDF versions on personal websites, academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), or in any institutional repository, provided proper attribution to the journal is given.

6. Format Sustainability

  • To ensure long-term readability, JABFS archives articles in widely supported formats such as PDF/A (ISO-standardized PDF for long-term preservation).

  • Metadata for each article follows standardized schemas (e.g., Dublin Core, CrossRef) to facilitate easy retrieval and interoperability with archiving systems.

Commitment Statement
Through these measures, JABFS guarantees that all published content remains permanently accessible to researchers, academics, and the public, supporting the journal’s mission to contribute to the global exchange of knowledge in business and finance.
